The Most Overlooked Lead Generation Strategy of all time

Like me, you’ve probably noticed that traditional advertising just isn’t working. It’s not bringing in leads like it used to, not converting sales like it used to.

Because Marketers have ruined everything. We’re exposed to so much more information than we used to. Its hitting us from every direction. From our phones, our inboxes, our TV’s, and what are we doing?

We’re just switching off.

Advertisement boards no longer give you the ROI you’re looking for. Emails are being clogged up by spammers. Our customers are just switching off and not receiving our messages.

So what can you do about it?

 

Before I go any further, I want you to remember that you’re not alone in this problem. You are not unique.

 

Now I’m not saying that to be harsh or because I want to pull you down, I’m saying it so that you can use it to your own advantage.

There are many other businesses out there that share the same issues you have, where their advertising is not working and they don’t know how to get out there in the market place and get themselves in front of their customer.

You need to reach out to the community. So why not get together?

 

Building Business Connections

 

Firstly, spend a good morning writing down all the family, friends, extended circles and businesses you know and have or have had a connection with (Don’t forget the squash club members and friends of friends too).

Make contact with those where you can deliver value, and network with. Start to build a team of connections that can work together to help each other in the long run.

Second make a list of all those people that aren’t direct connections, that might be interested in getting together with a team of switched on business owners. Attend an event in their area, or give them a call. Chances are, they’re pretty keen to “network” and would welcome the approach.

 

Your Power Team

 

Once you’ve started to pull your power team together, there are a few options open to you. You could:

  • Meet once a month to create a plan and keep the group focused
  • Promote each other’s businesses to your clients
  • Organise a joint event and all invite your clients along to it
  • Jointly pay for an online marketing plan or email marketing campaign to your collective databases or even buy a database to market to

Working together with a team of like minded professionals with common goals can really make the whole task a lot less daunting and together you will be stronger and more effective.

Who you hang around with matters. With a group of like minded professionals, you can bounce ideas off of each other, hold each other accountable and offer advice, guidance and support to each other.

Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
